About Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering:-

The 4 years (Full-time) Electronics Engineering degree program started at FAMT in 1996(i.e. with the establishment of the college) affiliated to University of Mumbai that provides a rigorous grounding in the analytical and experimental foundations of electronics engineering. Electronics Engineering is the discipline that has enabled the remarkable technological advances in recent years. These advances are seen in terms of the ever-increasing performance and miniaturization in areas such as mobile communications, audio and video products, personal computers, laptops and palmtops.

Further, the competition due to globalization has brought about revolutionary change in Electronics & Telecommunication sector. World is moving towards the fourth generation of Mobile Communication. This has resulted into ever-increasing demand of Electronics as well as Telecommunication Engineers in Indian industry and abroad. Telecom systems range in size from pacemakers, intelligent sensors to cell phones and PDAs to stand alone and distributed elements like set top boxes, modems, network elements and to large-scale systems deployed in process control, manufacturing, power generation, defense applications, telephony & networking, automotive electronics, air traffic control, video-on-demand and video-conferencing. India is emerging as a global telecom design and software destination and emerging talent pool in this domain. Demand is continuing to outstrip the availability of highly skilled pool of graduates for the fast evolving telecom & networking industry.

In tune with these advancements, 4 years (Full-time) Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Degree (B.E.) program with an intake capacity of 60 students started at FAMT in 2007 affiliated to University of Mumbai. The department comprises of well-equipped laboratories containing latest equipment and training kits in the field of Electronic & Telecommunication in order to conduct practical experiments as stipulated by the University syllabus.

The department has a state-of-art computer laboratory which has computers loaded with the latest application softwares to cater the need of advanced communication technologies. Some of the advanced facilities available are Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer and PCB fabrication units.

The institute is committed towards disseminating knowledge and providing students with an education that is well-balanced in terms of academics as well as opportunities to excel in extra-curricular activities. In coherence with this, since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education & training at the undergraduate level in various areas of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronics and communication systems.

It is our desire to make the best engineer who would not only display highest standard professionalism in the outside world but also provide the leadership to the society to elevate the values and the standards of our country.
